Application Information
Congratulations on your decision to apply to the Italian Cultural Studies Program in Venice! Please select your school below to begin the application process. If you are not a student at Columbia University or Barnard College, you are considered a Visiting Student at Columbia.
The Office of Global Programs prefers that you complete on online application.
Applications are not considered complete until all components have been received.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PASSPORTS: If you do not have a passport, or your passport will expire within the next year, please apply for one now. Currently it is taking up to several months to get a new or renewed passport. Even if you request that the passport be expedited, it can take several weeks.

Application Deadline
February 29-- Applications will be accepted after the deadline if space is available. Please email if you would like to submit an application.
How to Apply
Application materials, except for transcripts, are part of the online application. Complete applications are due by the deadline. A complete application consists of the following:
- Completed online application form.
- Statement of purpose (500 word statement about personal and academic goals and how you intend to achieve them). This may be uploaded into the online application.
- Completed online study abroad approval form:
- Barnard students: Dean should complete this form for you.
- Columbia College students: Do not complete this form. Please see Dean to be cleared for study abroad.
- General Studies students: Do not complete this form. Please see Dean to be cleared for study abroad.
- Completed online faculty recommendation form. If you have taken an art history or architecture course, the recommendation must be from one of these instructors. If not, then it can be from any non-language instructor.
- Completed online language recommendation form.
- Official transcript(s) in envelopes sealed by the issuing institutions. Please submit this to the application contact below by the stated deadline.
