Amidst the rapid changes, Shanghai still retains elements of its colonial past and students have the opportunity to explore its unique position in Chinese history.

The Program

The Summer Business Chinese and Internship Program in Shanghai is a 10-week program in China’s commercial capital for students with at least an intermediate level of Chinese. Students study advanced Chinese with a focus on the language and etiquette used in professional settings in preparation for an internship with a local company.

• Earn 10 credits of Chinese at Columbia University.
